Have you ever run across someone who just didn't have good sense? It makes me wonder how we as a nation could end up with so many people like this in our local, state and federal governments. For example, let's look at illegal immigration. People that have come across the borders of the United States without going through customs have broken our laws. These laws are on the books but our local, state and federal respresentatives refuse to enforce them. Not only do they not enforce the laws, they want to forgive these people for breaking our laws and reward them by giving them amnesty, US citizenship and allowing them to take advantage of the social programs offered by our government to people supposedly in need. This just doesn't make sense to me. This is just one example of how our representatives have let us down. You would think that people who are smart enough to get elected to political office would have enough good sense to properly represent the people who elected them, if they wanted to stay in office.
Being raised in the south, I was taught that you weren't supposed to touch a hot stove, you weren't supposed to play in traffic, your weren't supposed to cut the grass in your bare feet and you weren't supposed to get into a fight with this guy named Andre. These are just some of the things I was taught you weren't supposed to do. I'm not going to say that I didn't try some of the things I was taught not to do, but I can say that I didn't repeat the mistake, especially with that guy named Andre. Some of you might say, " Well, these things are just good sense." I agree with you. But, I think we would be astonished at how many people burn themselves on a hot stove, play in the street and get run over by cars, cut off toes cutting the grass in bare feet and I'll bet you that guy named Andre has been in more than one fight. My point is "Why do we keep electing the same people time and again to be our government representatives when they keep letting us down?" We've tried it and it hasn't worked or it has been a tremendous fight to get them to do what we want them to do. I think it's time to get rid of the incumbents and elect some new blood. What is the worst that could happen? We might end up with respresentatives that won't do what we want them to do. We have that now! Let's set a new course for the country. Get rid of all the incumbents.
I believe that we live in the greatest country in the world. It is a country where you can have a dream and make it happen. I also believe that our country is heading down the wrong road. It is the road where our liberties and freedoms are slowly being taken away by the representatives that we have elected to our local, state and federal governments. It is time for us to be bold and vote the incumbents out of office and put people in office who have not been corrupted by power. It is imperative that our representatives know that our government is of the people, by the people and for the people and if they do not represent the people, there will be a heavy price to pay.
Remember, the only limts that are on you are the limits you put on yourself and allow others to put on you. The following is one of my favorite quotes.
Nathan Bedford Forrest - Fort Donelson, 1862
"I have not come here for the purpose of surrendering my command."
I hope this post spurs you to action. Have a Great Week!
